Our mission is to provide the dental hygienist community with the opportunity to take an active role in their professional development and to share their knowledge and experiences with others while earning continuing education credits in a safe and state-of-the-art dental laboratory facility. It is our goal for hygienists to learn about new advances in the science and technology underlying their work and cultivate a mentorship of share resources and wisdom.

With over 31 years in business, Acqua-Dent has remained at the forefront of dental and digital technology and has been an invaluable resource to the dental community. Our speakers include Prosthodontists, Periodontists, and companies that we have partnered with in digital technology, 3D scanning and much more.

Seeing is Believing! Driving Patient Education with the iTero Element™ scanner
Heather Phipps, CDA, EFDA, EFODA

Course Description

Attendees will learn how to engage, educate, and empower the patient to accept treatment using the Align Digital Platform™. Discover how a single scan has the potential to be utilized in a variety of dental conversations. This course is designed to maximize the iTero Element™ intraoral scanner and help your practice create that “wow” patient experience at every visit. Attendees will also breakout into groups for hands-on training to learn tips and tricks for speed and efficiency in scanning.

Course Objectives
  1. Understand how to unlock the power of the iTero Element intraoral scanner to collect digital records.
  2. Discover what the iTero Element intraoral scanner and software can do to educate, engage, and empower patients.
  3. Explore tips on how to scan faster and with more efficiency.
About the Speaker

Heather has been a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions in the state of Oregon since 2009. Her dental background and clinical experience with the iTero Element scanner have allowed her to become a successful member of Align’s iTero Clinical Training team since 2018. Away from work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, hiking, and fishing.

Nainesh Desai, DMD, FICOI

About the Speaker

Dr. Nainesh Desai is a Prosthodontist with private practices in East Brunswick and Piscataway, NJ. He received his BDS degree in 1999 from Mumbai University. and in 2004 he obtained his Post-Graduate Certificate in Prosthodontics from UMDNJ. Dr. Desai then went on to practice and teach Prosthodontics in Michigan. He has published in peer-reviewed international journals and received grants for implant related research, the results of which have been presented at various national dental meetings. Dr. Desai has held a faculty position at the University of Detroit Mercy in the past. He is a member of numerous national organizations and local study clubs and has served as the President of Middlesex County Dental Society. He has lectured routinely locally and in India to his fellow dentists on Implant dentistry and Prosthodontics.

Periodontal Objectives & Treatment Planning
Daniel N. Kubikian, DMD

Course Description

This course is designed to provide a review of different periodontal goals and treatment planning specifically geared to dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants. The course will review how the dental team may participate and inform patients about various topics such as recession, attached gingiva, mobility, crown lengthening, periodontal pocket reduction surgery and implants. The goal is for doctors, dental assistants and hygienists to refamiliarize themselves with different aspects of periodontal diagnosis and therapy.

About the Speaker

Dr. Daniel Kubikian received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the School of Dental Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kubikian continued his studies completing a 4-year post-graduate program in Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthesis while earning the Chairman’s Award, from The University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kubikian is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Department of Periodontics at The University of Pennsylvania. He is a featured lecturer in implant dentistry at The University of Pennsylvania and Albert Einstein Medical Center. Since 2007, he has taught a comprehensive implant course accredited by the New Jersey Dental Association, which is geared to provide state of the art implant education to the dental community.

About the Speaker - Theresa Lennon

Theresa has over 30 years of dental assistant training experience as the owner and operator of Staff Matters, LLC employee training and development.  She is a NJ licensed teacher and a professional speaker.   Theresa works with dental teams teaching OSHA compliance, Infection Control, HIPAA, Ethics and Jurisprudence, Emergency Protocol and CPR (NJ Board of Dentistry CE approved).  She teachers Dental Science to high school students for the Monmouth County Vocational School District.  She is an active member of the New Jersey Dental Assistants Association, where she serves as publication editor and financial assistant

About the Speaker - Tom Viola

Tom is the founder of Pharmacology Declassified, is a board-certified pharmacist who also serves the profession of dentistry as a clinical educator, professional speaker, and published author. Tom is a member of the faculty of 16 dental professional degree programs and has received several awards for outstanding teacher of the year. Tom has presented hundreds of continuing education courses to dental professionals, nationally and internationally, in the areas of oral pharmacology and local anesthesia and is well-known for his regular contributions to several professional dental journals. Tom has earned his reputation as the go-to specialist for making pharmacology practical and useful for all members of the dental team.

TUITION INFORMATION

Year 2023 tuition includes 4 evening sessions (light dinner served). Each Session is $125.00 and you will earn 3 CE credits per course.
Speakers include a Registered Dental Assistant, a Board-Certified Pharmacist, a Prosthodontist and Periodontist.
Representation from global medical device companies and demonstration of scanners used in dental offices today will be included in this series.
